In 1996, Tom Shannon founded Shamrock Partners, which has made a number of investments. In 2002 Shamrock Partners became the lead investor in Prodesse, a biotech company in Southeast Wisconsin. At the same time, Tom assumed the position of CEO and board member of Prodesse. For seven years Tom dedicated his extraordinary talents and energy into growing the firm. In 2009, Tom exited the firm after its sale to Gen-Probe for a purchase price of $72 million, not including additional potential milestones. Shannon is currently involved as lead investor and board chairman in the 2010 start-up funding of both Oshkosh Nanotechnology LLC (now Shamrock Energy Corporation) and Proxim Diagnostics Irvine, California. In addition to Tom giving some insights into how his team grew Prodesse from a $2.9 million valuation in 2002 to an exit for $72 million in 2009, he will update us on some of the deal flow he has seen in the past year including his group's lead funding of Proxim Diagnostics and Shamrock Energy Corporation. Tom holds a Finance degree from the University of Wisconsin.
