Licensing Technology
The MCW Office of Technology Development is responsible for managing the discoveries, inventions, and other intellectual property assets of the Medical College of Wisconsin and advancing these discoveries from “Patents to Patients”.
We identify and protect novel ideas and then market those ideas to established companies or help form spin-off companies to develop commercial products.
With over 1,000 physicians and full-time researchers, the Medical College of Wisconsin has a pipeline of early stage technologies available for licensing, covering therapeutics, diagnostics, medical devices and research tools.
A searchable list of these technologies is available on our web site at www.mcw.edu/OTD.htm. Visitors can also register to receive updates on technologies in their area(s) of interest.
University Partnerships
The MCW Office of Technology Development (OTD) seeks to partner with industry to move early stage discoveries into practical and commercially relevant applications and products. The OTD can assist companies who are interested in the research programs, expertise and technologies at the Medical College of Wisconsin.
OTD personnel facilitate formal industry collaborations via confidentiality agreements (CDAs), consulting agreements, material transfer agreements (MTAs), sponsored research agreements, SBIR/STTR grant applications, cooperative research agreements (CRADAs), joint ownership agreements and licensing agreements.
