Overview

First generation of Hmong Businesses were largely small family-run stores catering to its customers. For over two decades these businesses operated somewhat isolated from one another and the mainstream business community. Even with a limited support network, many have propspered and grown sucessfully. However, some continue to face obstacles because of a limited understanding on U.S. business practices and ability to access professional resources. The Hmong Wisconsin Chamber of Commerce (HWCC) creates a statewide network of established and new Hmong/Southeast Asian businesses along with experienced professional service providers. HWCC membership offers a variety of benefits and business services; such as, loan, worshop, one-on-one assistance, business development, and mentoring, business networking, and advocacy.
