The WiSys Technology Foundation, Inc. derives its mission, goals and objectives from the charge of its parent corporation, the Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation (WARF).
WARF's mission is to support research at the University of Wisconsin-Madison by protecting and licensing inventions created by UW-Madison scientists, and returning the licensing proceeds to fund further research at the university.
Similarly, the mission of WiSys, founded in 2000, is to support research and educational programs at the other campuses of the UW System.
